Tonasket Natural Foods Co-op
Serving--and Connecting-- Our Community Since 1977

The Co-op has long been a place not only for good food but for connecting with others. Back before people had phones around here they left personal messages for each other on the rotating cork ‘message tree’ at the checkout counter, and posted ads on the cork bulletin board; and they still do.

Now we also have an online version, for those of us who don’t drive into town as much as we log-in online. (and for those of us who get overwhelmed when in town running errands on ‘town day’ and miss half the posters….) The online ‘cork boards’ classifieds are organized by category–check them all out. course!

And it's all completely FREE of charge to read or advertise. :-)

HOW THE BOARDS WORK

  • There's this row of navigation links near the top of the page
    Home \ Register \ Login/out \ My profile \ Submit ad \ Search \ My ads \ Recent ads
  • Anyone can read the CorkBoards; you must do the free registration to place an ad. What you fill in on the registration page is visible to others if they click on your name.

You'll need a valid email address to register, as the initial password is sent to the address you give; then you use that to login.

  • Changing Password & Personal Info We recommend you change the randomly generated registration password to something you'll remember. To change the password, or any other personal information you put in during registration, click on the My profile button, change the info, and then be sure to click the "OK" button near the bottom of the page to make the changes take effect.
  • To Place an Ad You can read ads without being logged in--but if you want to place one make sure to click "Login" and then click "Submit ad" Type a title for your ad and your information in the spaces provided and then click "OK".

Please do not post back TO other people about their ads--this is a classifieds board, not a chat board. You should email people about their post (or contact them in the manner they asked in their ad.) Be sure to put a phone number in your ad if that's the way you want to be contacted instead of email--don't expect to check the corkboards for 'answers' to your ad.
  • Changing/Deleting Your Ad You can see your own ad if you are not logged in, but if you need to change it, click "Login". THEN, you'll notice your own ads have a "modify" button next to them. Because you have registered the system can tell you are the person who placed your ad--and it will let you change or delete it.
  • Your Responsibility & Security Please click to LogOUT, especially on public computers at places like the Library, so others cannot post as you, or erase your ads! Only one person per registration should be posting; your kids/parents should do their own free registration and place ads as themselves. You are responsible for keeping your password private; and responsible for anything posted under your username.
  • Adding Pictures You can add a photo of your logo or item that is no larger than 500 x 500 pixels and under 80k in size. The software does not give an error message when the photo is too large--it simply leaves the photo space blank. So if you've tried to upload a picture and it failed, look at the size/file size of your image and use a graphics program to reduce it. If you have need of extensive photo posting, perhaps you could link people to your own website or photo page elsewhere (and use up bandwidth there ;-)
  • Our "also see" links at the CorkBoards are the CCC's board of events and classes, Okanogan FamilyFaire (because the Co-op gets so many calls about what they are doing) and Green Okanogan, since they're starting up an alt.energy and recyling exchange facility with online topics. These few links are meant to prevent duplication in classifieds; it's not a general section to advertise websites, but you are free to leave a link to your website in your message in any of the categories.
  • Inappropriate Messages These pages are a service for Co-op members and non-member patrons and local people who are looking to sell or buy or trade local goods and services. Please email corkboards@tonasketcoop.com to report an inappropriate message. Postings from those outside our Community, illegal offers, pyramid schemes, postings with bad language, and anything contentious or harmful to another will be deleted.
  • And lastly...the HOME button will always take you back to all the categories; the MY ADS will take you to a page with all the posts made under your login id, and RECENT ADS will show you 25 of the most recently posted ads regardless of category.
